Individual counseling in Tucson for anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and personal growth.
Helping clients build stability, insight, and meaningful change through structured, compassionate counseling.

As a therapist, I have the privilege of helping clients navigate life’s challenges and witnessing meaningful growth along the way. Regardless of the setting or concern, I strive to provide every individual with the same level of thoughtful, personalized care. I am dedicated to creating a welcoming and inclusive space where clients feel safe to heal and grow.
My approach to therapy is client-centered and strength-based. Together, we focus on building practical skills, developing healthy boundaries, and strengthening the confidence needed to move forward in life. My goal is to support you while you take meaningful steps toward the next milestone in your journey.
In our sessions, I draw from evidence-based therapeutic approaches and tailor them to each client’s unique situation. Therapy can sometimes feel heavy, so I work to balance difficult conversations with honesty, humor, and moments of lightness. I aim to create a safe and confidential environment where you feel comfortable being your authentic self.
I cannot do the work for you or force change to happen.
But together we can build on your strengths, process past experiences, and challenge the beliefs that may be keeping you stuck.
I look forward to supporting you as you work toward meaningful and lasting change.

Individual counseling may focus on a variety of concerns depending on each client’s goals and experiences. Below are some of the areas Thomas commonly addresses.
Clients seek counseling for many different reasons, and this list is not exhaustive. During the initial consultation or intake, concerns and goals are discussed to determine whether counseling at BrighterView Counseling is a good fit.

CBT focuses on how thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes affect feelings and behaviors. It can help you view challenges clearly and respond effectively. You will be able to de-stress, manage emotions, resolve conflict, and live a more balanced life.
If you often find yourself overthinking and overanalyzing your challenges, ACT can be very helpful. It emphasizes taking a step back and practicing flexibility, rather than getting stuck on the uncontrollable factors. Together, we will develop strategies to respond rather than react, allowing you to show up as your authentic self.
EMDR is a type of therapy that involves moving your eyes a specific way while you process traumatic memories. Our goal with EMDR will be to help you heal from trauma or other distressing life experiences.
Living in the present moment and moving through life’s problems can be challenging. With DBT, you’ll learn four core skills: mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and emotion regulation. In sessions, you will practice using these tools and applying them to better navigate personal challenges.
In a nutshell, mindfulness is paying attention in a special way: consciously, without judgment, and with relaxation. You will learn to identify shifts in mood without sabotaging, or engaging in negative thinking patterns. This will allow you to be present and able to fully embrace life.
Life is full of ups and downs. No matter how low you feel, there are still victories worth celebrating. They may be hidden or small, insignificant or random, but meaningful nonetheless. Together we will use these experiences as building blocks for continued success.
Your relationship with yourself and others is central to happiness and well-being. Negative thoughts and actions can keep you stuck, holding you back from unlocking your true self. Together, we will explore how your strengths are overlooked and underappreciated tools that can initiate transformation.
Life can be complicated and sometimes you need supportive problem-solving. SFT helps shift attention and energy toward moving forward, instead of looking back on ‘what could have been.’ It places an emphasis on developing realistic solutions and helps you get through that temporary bump in the road.
