Individual counseling in Tucson for addiction and substance use, anxiety, and healthy coping.
Helping clients build stability, insight, and meaningful change through structured, compassionate counseling.

You may be tired of feeling stuck in the same patterns, even when part of you knows something needs to change. When stress, substance use, anger, or past experiences keep pulling you off course, it can be hard to know how to move forward on your own.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I take a direct, honest, and grounded approach to therapy. My work is shaped by motivational interviewing, open-ended questions, and meaningful reflection so you can better understand where you are and where you want to go. I also offer Christian counseling for clients who want their faith to be part of the process.
I often work with people dealing with addiction, relapse risk, anger, anxiety, depression, stress, and unhealthy coping patterns. Many of the clients I support are trying to regain stability, lower risk, and build a healthier way of living.
Therapy with me is active and practical. Together, we look closely at patterns, talk through what is getting in the way, and build skills that support real progress. I often use role play, safety planning, and relapse prevention work to help you prepare for hard moments and respond differently.
You can expect me to be warm, clear, and honest with you. I will support you, but I will also challenge you when needed, because real progress usually requires both encouragement and accountability.
I believe therapy works best when you can show up as yourself and speak openly about what is hard. This process is not always easy, but it can help you understand yourself more clearly and make stronger choices over time.
I cannot do the work for you, but I will walk alongside you as we build on your strengths, work through past experiences, and challenge patterns or beliefs that may be holding you back.
It is possible to move forward, and I would be honored to help you take the next step.

Individual counseling may focus on a variety of concerns depending on each client’s goals and experiences. Below are some of the areas Duby commonly addresses.
Clients seek counseling for many different reasons, and this list is not exhaustive. During the initial consultation or intake, concerns and goals are discussed to determine whether counseling at BrighterView Counseling is a good fit.

CBT focuses on how thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes affect feelings and behaviors. It can help you view challenges clearly and respond effectively. You will be able to de-stress, manage emotions, resolve conflict, and live a more balanced life.
Living in the present moment and moving through life’s problems can be challenging. With DBT, you’ll learn four core skills: mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and emotion regulation. In sessions, you will practice using these tools and applying them to better navigate personal challenges.
In a nutshell, mindfulness is paying attention in a special way: consciously, without judgment, and with relaxation. You will learn to identify shifts in mood without sabotaging, or engaging in negative thinking patterns. This will allow you to be present and able to fully embrace life.
Your relationship with yourself and others is central to happiness and well-being. Negative thoughts and actions can keep you stuck, holding you back from unlocking your true self. Together, we will explore how your strengths are overlooked and underappreciated tools that can initiate transformation.
Life can be complicated and sometimes you need supportive problem-solving. SFT helps shift attention and energy toward moving forward, instead of looking back on ‘what could have been.’ It places an emphasis on developing realistic solutions and helps you get through that temporary bump in the road.
